What can you say about the legend that is Carnoustie Championship course? The current course has been sculpted by various architects since the initial creation of a 10 hole course in 1842. Since the last alterations by James Braid, in the 1920's the course has not changed. It remains today, as tough a challenge as it ever was.

The course has regularly been voted the best
links in the World, so what makes it so special?

It could be the fact that no two holes face the
same direction! With winds coming in from the
sea I am sure you appreciate how hard it is to
maintain your swing!

The burns that snake their way around the course create many problems, as witnessed by Van De Velde in the '99 Open! And lastly, its an incredibly long course. From the back tee's the course can be stretched to over 7400 yards, with tight fairways and
heavy rough the course demands that you think carefully about your shots.

Overall, an awsome course that has been played by so many of the
golfing greats. Handle it with respect and you will be fine.
