You have a number of options in getting to Carnoustie, the following information provides a summary of them.
 
 

Travelling from the South. Head to Perth, from there take the A90 to Dundee. At Dundee follow the A92 to Carnoustie.

Travelling from the North. Follow the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road until the Brechin turn off. Follow the A935 to Brechin, from there follow the A933 to Arbroath. At Arbroath take the A92 to Dundee, turning off at Carnoustie.

Once in Carnoustie follow signs for the railway station and beach.
