We appreciate you can't play all of the courses in Angus. So hopefully by telling you our
favourites it will make your decision on where to play slightly easier.

We are truly spoiled for choice around Carnoustie, and we are in no way restricted to links play.

The following courses provide our unbiased opinions on the courses you should play when you come and stay with us. We have added a summary to each course, basically describing the main feature of the course we like. A link is provided for each which takes you to a more detailed description.

A Links course with an awesome reputation. We think its a must due to its tight fairways, and lightning quick greens. Favourite hole is the tenth, for its well guarded approach to the green! Water lies at the front, bunkers to the left and trees on the right! With all the obstructions its difficult to make four.

Ben Hogan's favourite golf course in Scotland. I found it an interesting links course
that required good thought when playing. Huge undulating fairways make it difficult,
but fun. The sixth hole is the most interesting, a tough dog leg to a raised plateau green! Hogan described it as the best hole he had ever played. Who are we to argue?

The fifth oldest links course in the World. We like it as its True links golf on display. As with the above two, this course is very exposed to the elements! The short third is very deceptive, it has an elevated green which can be difficult to keep the ball on. Especially when the wind is blowing.

A very pretty parkland course, known as the 'Augusta' of the North. The par 3 eigth is the stand out hole for the course, you drive over a loch to a compact green surrounded by a wall of rhodedendrons.

An exciting parkland course, that is regularly rated as one of the best inland courses in the country. Very higly regarded by us, the course is always in an immaculate condition and never disappoints. The 11th hole is one of the greatest par 5s in the country and is the clubs signature hole.

A most enjoyable parkland course. Set in a beautiful location where the Grampian
mountains surround. The 446 yard, par 4 second hole is a good test. Out of bounds on the right and behind the green, the second shot is played blind over a ridge to a bunkered green.
