Created in 1845 this captivating heath/links course is one of the best examples of a natural links layout in Scotland. The first three parkland style holes lead into some
memorable links golf as many of the holes are set amongst sandhills! Fairways are tight due to both gorse and pine, and play to the greens requires good iron play. The course is truly captivating!

When Ben Hogan came to Scotland in 1953, he spent the week prior to the championship practising over the links here. Infact, the sixth hole was described by him as the toughest he had ever played!

Used as a final Open Championship qualifier the course can challenge the best as well as be enjoyed by all.
